Koijigahama Beach (Beach of Romance)
If you go to the Irago Misaki Lighthouse and look toward the Pacific Ocean, the beautiful beach stretching over to Hii-no-Sekimon, approximately 1 km, forms a smooth curve shaped like a bow. Koijigahama Beach (Beach of Romance) is selected as a “Sacred ground of lovers”, coupled with the Irago Misaki Lighthouse. |

Migratiry Birds
Irago Point is a center for viewing of the Sa-shiba (gray-foced buzzard eagle), a species of hawk. During the months of September and October, large flocks of these birds can be seen flying south between Koijigahama and Irago Misaki. |

Irago Misaki Lighthouse
This lighthouse is located at the tip of Atsumi Peninsula. Since 1929, this chalk colored lighthouse has continued lighting the way to assure the safety of passing ships. It was also selected as one of the Top 50 Lighthouses in Japan. |

Hii no Sekimon (Sunrise Stone Gates)
These are fantastically shaped rocks that the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean have hollowed out the center of. At sunrise, they make a beautiful silhouette. |

Mt. Zao
From the observation deck at the summit of Mt. Zao, one can get a sweeping view of Mikawa Bay or the Pacific Ocean, and the night view is also spectacular. The towering windmills installed there for wind power generation are new landmarks which symbolize Tahara's determination to take steps to protect the environment. |

Omote-hama (Front Beach)
Known also as Katahama Jusanri, the beautiful beach abounds with nice spots for angling and seine fishing as well. |

Taiheiyo (Pacific) Long Beach
At this long beach,also called Katahama Jusanri,visitors enjoy sea fishing and seine fishing and the Pacific Long Beach is renowned as a mecca for surfers. |

Nanohana (Colza flowers) Festival
Colza flowers begin blooming in Atsumi Peninsula at the middle of January. During this season, the "Nanohana Festivar" is held. It is extremely popular with tourists who come to pick the colza flowers and for the lighting of the fields of bossoms at night. |
