Besides an exchange student project where junior high school aged students participate, Tahara City receives ALT (Assistant Language Teachers ) teachers from Georgetown College and engages in other active exchange activities. Tahara’s Kite Preservation Society has a branch office in Kentucky and private citizens of the two towns engage in exchange activities too. |

Dongjak-gu, Seoul, Korea
Reciprocal visits of people from both sides started back in 1985 when the Japan-Korea Friendship Association of Tahara and the Korea-Japan Friendship Association of Dongjak-gu concluded a sisterhood agreement. Exchange of friendship has been promoted actively also on the private basis for example, in a case of goodwill matches by boys soccer teams. |
