Kite Festival
The children's Hatsu Dako (first kites), given them as a symbol of the wish for a successful life on the day of the annual children's Festival (May 5) can be seen when the festival be-gins. The Kenka Kite battles, with the kite fliers attempting to cut the strings of their opponents' kites with their own kite strings, can also be seen at the festival. |

Tahara Festival
The Tahara Fesival is held in September. The highly decorated floats on which ''Karakuri Dolls'' are carried are famous. It is also highlighted by nights when children riding the fIoats perform finger plays, by handheld fireworks and large fireworks displays. |
